Asian Curry Awards 2020 Winners Breathe Life into Hospitality Industry

With the second lockdown postponing the original virtual ceremony, the legendary Asian Curry Awards 2020 took place last night, broadcast via a virtual ceremony.

Available live on Facebook and YouTube, the judging panel comprised of top tier industry experts including Curry Club founder, Pat Chapman, award-winning author and food critic, Ria Amber Tesia and co-chairman of the Chinese Catering Association, Thomas Chan.

Organised by the Asian Catering Federation and in partnership with Just Eat, the awards included eateries across the UK and champion exceptional food and innovative vision; winners across the UK included Warwickshire’s Maya Bar & Restaurant and Cambridge’s Prana. Winner’s for London boasted South Woodford’s Grand Trunk Road for Best Fine Dining Restaurant and London Bridge’s Mango Indian for Asian Restaurant of The Year.

Categories covered a range of national cuisines, including Chinese, Bangladeshi, Indian, Thai and Middle Eastern, also including the highly anticipated Community Hero of The Year and Takeaway of The Year categories.

Asian Curry Awards Founder, Yawar Khan, says: “From an industry rocked by the recent pandemic, we are so thrilled to celebrate such a wonderful list of restaurants; we can’t wait to celebrate properly and look forward to awarding the UK’s culinary greats in person in 2021.”
